The Illinois Latino Judges Association would like to congratulate the Honorable Brenda Claudio who ascended the bench on August 2, 2021 as the First Latina Judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit. Judge Claudio was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained her law degree from DePaul University School of Law in 1996. Judge Claudio worked as an Assistant’s State’s Attorney in Kankakee County since 1997 where she became one of the county’s top Felony prosecutors for violent sex crimes.
